What is remote proctoring features and how does it work?
Remote proctoring is a system that enables candidates to take assessments online securely. It verifies the test-taker's identity and monitors their screen, webcam, and microphone to maintain the integrity of the assessment and prevent malpractice.
Xobin offers the following remote proctoring features:
- Webcam Proctoring
Xobin's webcam proctoring eliminates the need for manual invigilation during remote assessments. Candidates can take tests from any location with a computer and a stable internet connection. Using a combination of monitoring software and video imaging, Xobin ensures candidates remain focused and prevents undesirable activity throughout the assessment. It also performs identity verification. A series of snapshots are captured during the assessment, and the final webcam recording can be reviewed in the reports.

- AI Proctoring
Xobin's AI Proctoring uses advanced artificial intelligence to monitor candidates in real time. It automatically detects and flags suspicious behavior — including the presence of multiple people or unauthorized devices — reducing the need for manual review and ensuring a secure testing environment. Violations are tracked through webcam snapshots.
AI Proctoring requires Webcam Proctoring to be enabled.- Screen Recording
Xobin's Screen Recording feature captures the candidate's entire screen activity throughout the assessment, providing an additional layer of oversight. It also records ambient audio through the candidate's microphone, enabling a comprehensive monitoring experience that ensures a fair and transparent evaluation process.
- EyeGazer
Xobin's Eye Gazer feature monitors a candidate's eye movement throughout the assessment. If a candidate looks away from their screen for an extended period, it is automatically flagged as a violation, helping ensure the candidate's full attention remains on the test at all times.
