Does Xobin allow for download of the candidate's screen recording and proctoring video?
For security and compliance reasons, assessment screen recordings and candidate proctoring videos and snapshots are not available for direct download. Here's why:
- Candidate Data Protection
These recordings contain sensitive personal data including the candidate's face, voice, responses, and other identifiable information. Keeping recordings within the platform allows Xobin to enforce role-based access control, maintain audit logs, apply retention controls, and manage secure deletion workflows.
- Prevention of Data Leakage
Once a video is downloaded, it can be copied, forwarded, stored on unsecured devices, or shared beyond the approved hiring team. This creates significant privacy, compliance, and data leakage risks for both the organization and the candidate.
- Regulatory Compliance
To remain compliant with regulations such as GDPR and DPDPA, candidate data must be manageable at a central level. If a candidate requests deletion or a client's data retention period ends, platform-hosted recordings can be deleted centrally. Downloaded copies, however, may continue to exist elsewhere without visibility or control.
Clients can securely review all interview recordings and proctoring data directly within the platform, ensuring that access remains controlled, auditable, and aligned with data protection and candidate privacy obligations.
