Can I add typing test into my assessment?
Yes, you can easily add a typing test.
The Typing Test is designed to evaluate a candidate’s typing speed and accuracy under timed conditions. It simulates real-world scenarios where individuals must read and type simultaneously.
Key Features:
- Flexible Duration: Candidates can take the test for intervals ranging from 60 seconds to 300 seconds.
- Parallel Reading and Typing: The test requires candidates to read a passage while typing it in real-time, ensuring that both comprehension and typing ability are assessed.
- Performance Metrics: At the end of the test, the system calculates:
- Words per Minute (WPM) – Adjusted speed after factoring in errors.
- Raw Words per Minute (Raw WPM) – The unadjusted typing speed, excluding error corrections.
- Accuracy – The percentage of correctly typed words compared to the original passage.
Scoring:
A composite score is generated based on the candidate’s speed, raw speed, and accuracy, providing a balanced measure of their typing proficiency.
How to create a typing test?
Step 1: Log in to Xobin
- Visit Xobin Signup Link and log in to your account.
- Click on the Assessments tab.
Step 2: Navigate to My Assessments:
- After logging in, go to the Assessments tab.
- Click on the Create new assessment button.
- Click on the Create From Scratch button.
Step 3: Assessment creation
- Name the assessment (e.g. Typing Assessment)
- Click on the Add Section Button.
- Choose the question type as Typing.
- Under Computer Literacy, click “Typing and Accuracy Test” to add it to the section.
- Click “Create Assessment” (top-right).
- Enter Assessment Name (Typing Test) and add instructions, then click Next.
- (Optional) Add Registration Fields (like phone number, resume), then click Next.
- Choose Proctoring/Security settings (Off-Tab, Webcam, AI Proctoring, etc.) and Click Launch Assessment.
- The typing test will get created successfully.
